Everything is half price today at the Moving BACK-EAST Sale!
Today for 4 hours *I aim to sell everything I have for sale.
Nothing fits for months years. Your skin changes. Nothing you used to use for cleansing works. IT REALLY doesn’t. And when recovering you usually don’t have a lot of money to buy a continuous stream of cosmetics, beauty supplies or clothing to suit your daily varying size and skin texture.
I think I’ll split between the women who live in my building and charity, the clothing i am not taking. That feels right. For over three months all I wore were two pairs of jeans and one pair of stretchy pants. I had found the two pairs of jeans in the front lobby. I bought the stretchy pants from the Salvation Army. They were nice, they fit, they worked. I have since lost 20lbs and am holding my weight. A small goal achieved over time something I am proud of.
This week has been anything but awful. I cried watching the sun set over the Vancouver cityscape with mountains and water and ships in harbor. Friends (René, Darren, Junko, Tomoko) have surprised me with visits and food. I love you guys so much.
I’m still in shock about moving a 14 foot high Japanese Maple Tree down four flights of narrow stairs in an East Van apartment on a dolly, bouncing one step at a time with a man named Loui. Then moving an apple tree down the same way and unraveling a concord grapevine entwined meshed into a iron fence is not for the faint of finger movements.
Up and down and UP and down.
Lift and carry lift and carry
tell a story
Anywho I fly out late Tuesday evening.
I’ll post the final ad link on Craigslist in the comments of this post.
This weekend marks the last weekend I will be living in Vancouver BC. It is also the last two of six days of the Moving BACK-EAST Sale to find great things for sale in my apartment & on the deck.

I fly from Vancouver to Saint John, New Brunswick this Tuesday at 11:55PM. Just over four years in Vancouver seems to have passed so fast. I’m gonna miss it. As much as I’ll miss it, I long to live on the East Coast again among family and friends.
Please come and support me and my cat Missy by purchasing a couple of the following items.
Haggle with me if you like. Make an offer. I have priced some things and others not.
I am not working right now and therefore have no income except what I have been selling through this sale.
This is hard work. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.

Yesterday despite the torrential rainfalls Vancouver is experiencing I had a nice turn-out for this sale. Al Pasternak author of Bokashi Blog stopped by and purchased some strawberries another odds and ends. We had first met at Northern Voice. Was great to see you again Al. He snapped the pic of me above in the rain. Eyes closed. Umbrella in hand. I was disheveled yesterday. Today, I am showered, clean and brought out more things for sale.
My old colour theory instructor stopped by and bought some lilies, the wild rose bush, an iron and other stuff. One woman dismantled the shelf in my storage shed, bought it and also purchased the tools I gave her to use to take it apart.
I didn’t refuse any offers yesterday.(I did refuse the following day on Tuesday). Come and make an offer! Oh and I’ve begun yelling at other people who have rooftop decks in my neighborhood that I am having a sale. You know what, it works.
For a SMALL partial list of items for sale with suggested prices Continue reading

…by saying that these days are crystal clear and in a semi-holding patterns. Faces are ingrained to memory as is the place, apartment and it’s things. What would you keep? What would you sell? I sold my desk. It stood first and was purchased 3 days ago. IKEA has decent resale value in Vancouver. Something to take note of if you ever move here and then need leave is that you can sell them.
All my fabric items I’m going to launder however this is proving next to impossible and I believe I will bag most of it up and donate it, only if they can wash it first. Women’s shelters need clothes.
As the days pass I want to take less and less with me. I am choosing memories and practicality for anything that isn’t a tool, to bring or ship East.
I went to visit Junko 4 nights ago. She said it best, “You need to get away from overwhelming apartment”.
I’ve really had to numb out external stimuli this last week. Concentrating is proving unreliable. Meer mutters of scrolling by hand or keyboard as of late mainly on paper. There are people here I couldn’t care less to see. There are people whom I’d love to stow away to travel with me.
And on a political note please vote anything other than for the conservative party at any upcoming Canadian elections.
Finding order in chaos is easing frustration.
Saying “NO” and staying relatively private about “why?” when asked.
The reasons are many.
Went to first appointment for ADD. I feel weird and somber.
I fly out late this month.
I’m outside most days in the garden weeding, pruning and doing.
