Rolling Roses (down the highway of life)

For a while there… nothing was coming together; ink lines, paper cuts, pens with caps off, all were left wandering aimlessly in the studio with unfinished lines, scraps of paper and ideas yet to bear fruit. That kind of sums up the last few months of my life.

In January, I resigned myself to learn the art of balancing business with creativity as the two rarely meet on common ground. This isn’t to say that they don’t, as one can inspire the other beginning a wave of tidying up… and finishing what one had begun months ago.

So many piles of paper. I love paper. It’s my all time favorite medium! More than wood, metal and canvass. Paper to me is akin to sex.

  1. Hi Jessica,

    Jessica,
Love all your work and these rolling roses are special.
I wanted to see if you wrote anything about your parents and I found it. It’s 3:30 am here and I couldn’t sleep because I haven’t heard from Mary or your mother for over a week and wondered if something happened. Haven’t caught Mary on line either. I feel better now. Thanks to your blog.
Keep doing what your’re doing. It will just get better. love you, patsy

  2. Hi Aunt Patsy! Yes, they made it down to south Carolina and then successfully made their way to Florida. I’m going to take a look for you on Facebook.

I’m glad you feel better 😉

  3. Hi Jess,
I hope this is where you wanted me to send e-mail. It was so nice to see your beautiful face the other day. Thanks for the tips on the cards. You should come visit, we could do some art. Russ is at work Tues-Thurs during the day, Trent is at school and Xander just plays around and watches cartoons. I’v been loving doing drawing lately. Love your company! We could sit, sip tea and draw with water color. Just like the old days, hee.
