The Four Seasons Tree Series is now Featured on a Polarity LOCKET SET

A little while back I announced that the Sassy Sea Urchin and George the Fish were available on a recycled locket set by Polarity. They are no longer available due to some exciting news which I can’t tell you about… yet.

To take their place I offered Polarity the rights to use the Four Seasons Tree Series to feature on a locket set with four interchangeable lids. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall…

The set is stunning and for sale in my shop now!

And if you are looking for the Four Seasons archival print sets (8×8 inch and 5×5 inch size) they can be found in the Print Sets Section of my shop.

Polarity also writes and authors a fantastic blog! Go and say hi to her!

Thoughts on that Christmas Art Show at Harbour Station

Well, now that a few days have passed, my mind seems to be calming from the experience of prepping, setting up, selling, tearing down and unpacking from the Art’s and Craft’s Sale held at Harbour Station this past weekend.

I’m not sure if my mind has calmed much if at all. It seems to be on hyperdrive these last few weeks between trying to find new tenants, managing this household and selling on Etsy and wondering where I fit into this world.

I guess I fit right here in my home, both online and offline. :)

The show was good. Not as good financially as I had hoped for as I am short two tenants but not as bad as it could have been. My booth display needs work for future shows yet it was presentable and people saw my artwork, commented and bought. That in itself; the getting of feedback and of having your work received by a public you’ve sheltered yourself from, for so long was invigorating, exciting and downright thrilling at times.

I met some fantastic people who surprisingly either follow my blog and/or new of my Etsy shop and dropped by to say so. I met students of art, mothers and daughters, my ex-husband, extended family members namely cousins (as I have close to 40 first cousins), old school mates from secondary school, other artists and crafters, shop owners and a few folks from government art agencies and many new faces! It was so nice to meet, talk with and see you all!

And I earned enough that I was able to pay a bit to both my Mom and Dad and Tricia for their help during the weekend. That felt great!

I’ll be doing it all over again in 2010 having booked and paid a deposit to reserve my spot for then. Hope to see you next year! Until then my online art shop found at http://www.etsy.com/shop/JessicaDoyle is open 24/7 and whatever you order is carefully packaged by me and shipped directly to your home from mine.

Cheers! Thanks everyone! xo

Do keep in mind that online Holiday Shipping and Ordering Deadlines are approaching quickly.

I am selling my art at Rhodas Christmas Festival at Harbour Station this weekend!

Wow, what an insane couple of week’s it has been getting ready for this giant upcoming sale. I will be selling my originals, prints, limited edition prints, ACEO (wallet size) mini prints, matted prints, calendars, greeting cards and miniature greeting cards. Also on hand will be a nice selection of framed and ready to hang artwork.

Rhodas Christmas Festival of Arts, Crafts, Food, and Antiques at Harbour Station in Saint John, New Brunswick

20 Nov 2009 , 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
21 Nov 2009 , 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
22 Nov 2009 , 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

If there is an original illustration, mixed media or artwork in my Etsy shop that you have been eying I suggest buying it before the weekend as they will be traveling to the show with me.

Tens of thousands of people attend this annual show. I’m beyond excited. Every last penny I had went into producing enough stock for the show and I met my goal for production late last night or should that be early this morning at 3:30AM.

My Mom and Dad (John) are helping me with set-up on Thursday night. Mom (Louella) will be working the booth with me on both Friday and Sunday. My bother’s girlfriend (Trisha) is working the booth with me on Saturday. Do come by to say hi and see the art in person!

Happy Holiday Ordering Deadlines

Unlike, in the world of offline shopping one can literally shop inside warm stores until December 24th and still have time to package and deliver that gift to it’s special recipient in time for holiday gift giving. Well, this scenario does not hold true for online shopping… however you do get to shop from the comfort of your own home and in return you’ll receive a beautifully packaged piece of artwork delivered right to your door.

Please do take a moment and read the following and place your order early while my stock lasts. I ship from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada and will be making extra runs to the post office daily, if needed (and I hope it’s needed) over the next couple of weeks.

Ordering Deadlines are as follows from my Etsy Shop:

If you live in Canada – December 15th
If you live in the United States – December 5th
If you live in Australia or New Zealand – November 28th
If you live in Asia – November 28th
If you live in Africa – November 20th
If you live in South America – November 20th
If you live in Central America – November 20th
If you live in Europe – November 28th

I do offer Expedited, Xpress and Priority Shipping if you miss these ordering deadlines. Simply contact me on Etsy for the applicable rates to your country of residence and I’ll adjust the shipping on the listing(s) you would like to order. Anything is possible! I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you need it quick like today… let me know and I’ll get it there for you.

Even with these deadlines in place there is an itsy bitsy minuscule chance that while crossing an international border your order could get held up in customs or experience postal delays within your own country. While I hope this does not happen it is really beyond my control if it does. About one percent of my orders do arrive late for these reasons which is a very good statistic and shipping record :) BUT all 900 plus orders that I’ve shipped out do arrive to their final destinations.

My customer feedback is 100% positive and I work hard to keep it that way. Please order in confidence knowing that I want you to be as happy with your order as I am when creating, packaging and shipping it for you.

If there is something in my art shop that you would like more than one of such as a print, card or calendar just contact me on Etsy and I’ll adjust the quantity available for you to purchase in the listing if I have more than one in stock.

The Magical Acorn and it’s a long and skinny one

I drew this magical acorn a few weeks ago when the leaves were still brilliantly coloured and hanging on the trees here in Saint John, NB. They have since fallen to the ground and certainly do crunch under ones feet.

Using Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens in both black and sanguin I drew the body of the acorn and with opaque white ink Pilot pens highlighted little details. The paper is Strathmore flower petal paper. The final piece in real life measures 4 1/8 by 8 1/2 inches (10,4cm by 21,5cm). It’s priced at $54 for the original drawing and is listed for sale in my art shop.

Hope you like it! Cheers!

We Series – because it’s all about family!

Aren’t they pretty? I completed this series of illustrations late last year. They are available in both 5×7 inch (12,7cm by 17,7cm) and 8.5×11 inch (21,5cm by 27,8cm) sets.

The set is comprised of We Flourish, We Grow and We Reproduce.

I ponder life often during this time of year as the trees and flowers are all but grey and dead around me as they enter their long hibernation this Winter only to come to life during Springtime. One would not exist without the other.

Each of these prints is available in a gift set or individually within the small or medium sections of my art shop.

And when you purchase either the 5×7 or 8.5×11 set by November 15, 2009 simply write “We Series” within the message to seller upon check-out in my Etsy shop and I’ll ship your set for free to wherever you live in the world! Shipping will be reimbursed after payment in full has been received. This offer is only good for “We Series” sets and not valid with any other offer. Do keep an eye on this blog for deals not found anywhere else until Christmas. xo

And if you are interested in buying the original miniature illustrations of the We Series they still secretly exist! I had them archivally matted. But they are not listed in my shop. If you are interested in them they are $125 each and I’ll put up a reserved listing for you on Etsy. The originals are delicate and much softer in colour and hue. Hope to hear from you! Thank you!

School of Fish Illustration

Just swimming in the sea…

School of Fish was created in late October 2009 with Windsor and Newton watercolour, Prismacolor Verithin coloured pencils, Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens (india ink) and Pilot Hi-tec C pens on Arches watercolour paper. All materials used are archival.

They are the Sultry Seahorse’s posse!

This original artwork measures 8×10 inches (20,5cm by 25,3cm) with a small white border around it making it easy to frame and mat.

The original School of Fish illustration is listed for sale in my Art Shop. Limited Edition Prints will be available in the coming weeks.
