After a painfully long wait I’m finally able to see with my own two eyes what the wine label that I illustrated back in April of this year for Red Gate Run looks like printed and adhered to the wine bottles.
Christopher Plante, the Californian wine producer, bottled the wine this summer. But, due to strict export/import international duties on all alcoholic beverages that are traveling from the United States and into Canada we had to figure out another way for me to get these filled bottles of wine! A good friend, Cara was traveling to the State of Maine this month. She picked the wine up for me at her PO Box so that I wouldn’t have to pay the exorbitant duty, the small shipment would have accrued while be shipped across the border into the province of New Brunswick.
The cabernet sauvignon red wine tastes wonderful and it’s uber cool to see one’s illustrative work on an actual product!
Thank you Chris for being patient while we worked out a legal way to bring the three bottles into Canada. And thank you Cara for picking up the parcel for me.
Want to hire me for an upcoming illustrative project? Get in touch.

this is wonderful, congratulations
That is awesome Jess, it looks great!! Too bad it wasn’t available in Canada!!!
I know… it’s great tasting wine Shyanne. He only produced 2000 bottles of this wine. I’m hoping he makes more next year that perhaps will be available in Canada too 😉
