A few days ago Sue from Michigan emailed this lovely photo of George matted, framed and hanging on this bathroom wall. Initially Sue emailed asking if I could print George at a larger than 8.5 x 11 inch size so that it would cover 12 x 16 inch wall area. I wrote back saying, that […]
After being in business online for over seven years I’ve finally purchased my own nifty usb powered 10lb cpacity postal scale from Staples. I’ll now be able to weigh your orders properly and not undercut myself nor overcharge you on postage ever again. And seeing as Canada Post has increased rates by 35% on some services a few weeks ago I can not afford not to weigh any longer. The time is come. The time is now, said Marvin K. Mooney.
Etsy has also built in a few shipping features and I will be able to print off shipping labels directly from Etsy for some orders from both my art shop and vintage shop. I’m not sure why they haven’t built in lettermail or small packet shipping and only offer Xpresspost and Expedited. In any respect, this is most welcome though.
I’ve been busy cutting 5×7 inch prints too in preparation for a couple of upcoming local Spring Shows. You can see George in the picture background.
UPDATE – Contest is closed. Winner of the calendar is Megan Warren! Thanks to everyone for the support this year. This year I will be offering two coupons that can be used in my art shop and two giveaways for Black Friday. I am 27 sales away from reaching 2000 sales and that in itself […]
I drew this pretty pregnant woman when I was about 13 weeks pregnant and struggling to get over first trimester morning sickness, dizziness and low blood pressure and later coloured her by hand around 18 weeks pregnant when I was feeling much better. The size of this print is 8.5 by 11 inches / 20,5cm […]
A few months ago, Kayleigh wrote asking for permission to use my artwork as a tattoo. She wanted to use the opening owl from this blog post as the basis for her tattoo. The final tattoo turned out pretty fabulous don’t you think! I’m truly honoured that someone liked my artwork enough to have it […]
This past weekend I was talking with my dancer friend about a film she’d recently seen (Pina, a tribute to dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch) that she was very enamored with. She said I had to see it, that all artists would benefit from watching it, regardless of what art they created. I wasn’t opposed […]
I want to say upfront that this is just one story from my life, and not a commentary on the gallery system as a whole. My personal experience with “traditional” galleries has ranged from lackluster to unethical (and possibly illegal, but I’ll get to that in a second.) I do not believe they’re all like […]
L ast weekend I went to a concert of someone I’ve technically known since I was five, and despite the fact that she’s fairly popular, I was woefully unfamiliar with her music and had never seen her perform (unless you count living room karaoke.) It ended up being pretty incredible to watch, not just because […]
