I drew Ingrid using Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens and Prismacolor Verithin Coloured Pencils inside a handbound leather journal. The original drawing measures 9 by 9 inches and the final limited edition print measures 8.5 by 11 inches. This size print is easy to mat and frame and hang on your wall. A pre-cut 11 by 14 inch mat with an opening cut for an 8 by 10 inch will fit this print perfectly. Then just slip it into your favourite 11 by 14 inch picture frame.
I began by drawing Ingrid using Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens. I use all their nib sizes when drawing. After the ink work is completed I begin adding the coloured pencil.
Adding in more coloured pencil to achieve some depth and highlights. I really enjoy using Prismacolor Verithin coloured pencils over any other Prismacolor or other brand because the lead stay sharp and are extra hard allowing you to shade those tiny places without the worry of your lead softening or breaking for that matter.
She’d make a mighty fine baby shower gift or a hooting happy gift for the owl lover in your life. She is Listed for sale here in my Etsy Shop. I ship internationally too.
I am booked to be selling my art at the Saint John City Market tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
This is the first time I’m leaving little Willow behind at home with Chris and not bringing her with me to a show. She is crawling and it would be next to impossible to keep her in a stroller all day. She’ll be up to see me midday for a couple of hours though as I’m still breastfeeding.
My art and I will be in the same spot down by Pete’s Frutique and across from The Shawarma Hut.
This year it’s located on the Saint John Exhibition Grounds and runs from 11:00 to 2:00 only on May 10th, 2014. There are a tremendous amount of vendors and organized by Sue of Apple of Your Eye Doula services. There is an event created on Facebook too. Door entry is $2.00 and proceeds are in support of First Steps Housing.
I’ll have many children’s and nursery themed art on hand.
Hope to see you there!
And thanks to everyone who came out to the last weeks show. Above is a shot of last weeks show. My mom and daughter were there helping me out and will be there this week too.
I love these events. This is a photo of people in attendance from the Christmas Stop & Shop. The Stop & Shop is held within the Qplex in the town of Quispamsis. The sale runs from 11:00 to 4:00 on May 4, 2014 and the entrance fee is a donation of your choice in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Hope to see you there! My table is located just to the left of the entrance door.
My daughter Willow having some fun with Little Orange. I need to keep reminding her to be gentle, gentle, to pat the cat gently as she grabs handfuls of Oranges hair. Good thing he is good natured. Willow will be 9 months old on the 26th.
After being in business online for over seven years I’ve finally purchased my own nifty usb powered 10lb cpacity postal scale from Staples. I’ll now be able to weigh your orders properly and not undercut myself nor overcharge you on postage ever again. And seeing as Canada Post has increased rates by 35% on some services a few weeks ago I can not afford not to weigh any longer. The time is come. The time is now, said Marvin K. Mooney.
Etsy has also built in a few shipping features and I will be able to print off shipping labels directly from Etsy for some orders from both my art shop and vintage shop. I’m not sure why they haven’t built in lettermail or small packet shipping and only offer Xpresspost and Expedited. In any respect, this is most welcome though.
I’ve been busy cutting 5×7 inch prints too in preparation for a couple of upcoming local Spring Shows. You can see George in the picture background.
I feel a little stunned and the back of my eyes and head hurt while my heart aches. Missy would have turned 17 years old this Summer which is 84 years old in human years.
She was a happy cat, a trooper, and travelled and lived from one coast of Canada to the other with me. She saw me through two major surgeries, marriage, divorce, addiction, and too many parties and both good and bad times to count. She always purred when you patted her and rolled onto her back for you to rub her belly. Missy loved when I whistled The Andy Grifith tune to her. She used to spend hours outside on decks and rooftops, catching moths at dusk or licking dew off of leaves in the garden. She was a great furry companion.
She is survived by Little Orange, her adoptive son, and Skulley, her stepsister and predeceased by Cat McGandy.
I miss her so much right now. It was agonizing taking her to the veterinary clinic this afternoon to euthanize. She lost the ability to walk this morning and would not eat or drink anymore. Her heart was failing and I couldn’t bear to watch her suffer any longer.
I love you Missy. You are truly missed and will never far from my thoughts.

I’ve been using Applecheeks cloth diapers on my daughter since she was very tiny weighing in at about 7lbs. She was too tiny to use them at first as she arrived early and only weighed 5lbs 5oz. She weighs over 17lbs and is fitting into their size 2 diapers now. I couldn’t imagine using disposables. I have about 24 diapers in total. Here Willow is at about 8 lbs in both photos with her Applecheeks.
