A Video Thank You

The following is a Video thank you from MsDragonfly who won first prize in the Pick What You Win Art Giveaway.

When I ship art I always ask the person who bought it or won it as is the case here to let me know when it arrives. This helps me keep track of shipping times from me to you and also just to know that it did indeed arrive and wasn’t lost in the mail.

Thank you MsDragonfly.
This video is SWEET!
So glad you like them! :)

Dear Jessica,

On a practical note . . . I was thrilled with how quickly, efficiently and graciously you handled our project together. Your skills and talents are impressively evident when looking at your work in all contexts. You seem to understand your medium(s) intimately and were willing to experiment and try different things, always responding kindly to my concerns and suggestions.

I greatly appreciated how dedicated you remained despite being ill and losing your dear cat McGandy in the midst of our process together–not to mention the fact that this was all happening during the holiday season! Everything was accomplished much sooner than I expected given the obstacles that appeared along the way.

I am moving

The researching and later, packing began in early November, hrmmm June 2008. You know how it gets when things become crowded and you can’t do what you need to do anymore in order to expand and grow.

You might notice things become a little wonky over the next few days as I migrate to self-hosting WordPress Blogging software again.

I currently blog on WordPress.com, a free blogging platform and forward my domain(s) here. It’s been great! I loved my time here. They were here when my finances ran dry and I could no longer afford to self-host anymore. Well, it’s come full circle and to advance I must move beyond. So thank you WordPress.com for the last year of awesomeness!

Secret #2 – Say, write, email or blog a thank you

These last few months are turning out to be some of the best and most memorable months for me in terms of art creation, exposure and hence gratitude. It’s so easy these days to become overwhelmed with emails, blog postings, comment moderation, facebook, flickr, features, etsy, galleries, friends, family, *dating and the responding to such. Throw into that mix, a few bad apples and I do become depressed or anxious at times as people or situations are not always what you want them to be. Occasionally, it can be down right nasty what people say to you.

The Buzz Interview

The Queen Bee aka Tameka contacted me in July for an interview to be published later to her blog. To quote her,

She is one of a few Etsy artists’ whose style is as identifiably her own as the historical works of great artists I’ve been forced to memorize and identify on sight in art history class. Only this time, my grade doesn’t depend on it and I actually like it!

I hope you enjoy reading the interview. You can read it here.

Thank you Tameka for asking me to be interviewed.

Tameka is also a fabulous jeweler and photographer and you can find her creations at PrettyinPeace.

Design This Design That Magazine Feature!

About a month ago I was contacted by Ariadna Ramley of Design This Design That Magazine based out of Mexico for an interview featuring my artwork. The issue is live online now. It looks fantastic and is full of gorgeous artwork from artists world wide!

She interviewed a total of 68 artists for this issue! I am on page 98.

Go Read it!

Thank you Ariadna. I am humbled to be amongst so many talented people.

Happy Belated Blogiversary and the Much Anticipated Newly Written Comment Policy

This blog is just over two years old this month. March 5th marked her two year anniversary.

Happy Birthday!

Whhooooooooooohooooooo and the crowd goes wild!

Here is the link to the first post I published to this blog.

To celebrate I am writing her comment policy.

This is my blog. Respect my home. Be honest. Be genuine and above all stay on topic. Don’t drop un-solicited links in the comments of this blog unless they were indeed asked for within the post or add to the post in a natural progression kind of way.

Talk as much or as little as you want. Talk with the others who leave comments on this blog if you like.

I read all comments on this Blog. I will respond to most of them. There may be times when I don’t because life got in the way, some things are better left unsaid or I’m really pissed at you! haha.

A pic

I reserve the right to delete your comment if it is hateful, demeaning or inhuman and spammy. I will not edit your comment for grammar. Your comment belongs to you except I house it! Don’t be dumb. Use a spell check! Remember that whatever you write here shows up in public Google searches worldwide. Copyright infringement is your responsibility within your own comment. I will not be held accountable for any laws broken or illegal activity that takes place within your comment.

I do however reserve the right to use your comment in any way I want. You chose to leave your words here purposefully. I can use it as fodder. I can use it for inspiration. I can duplicate if for artistic purposes and you will receive credit only when credit is due.

I don’t only approve positive comments. We all get angry.

As I continue editing past posts for grammar and updating broken links that were lost in the move, I’ll also be taking a good look at the comments. I know there are some spammy ones that got through my filters and they will be deleted forever.

I will never share your personal email or IP address with anyone. Unless the police come knocking on my door one stormy night, tie me up, feed me truth serum forcing me to recite all my passwords in rhyme and take my computer or you are spam.

I will never spam you. I will mark you as spam if you continue to break the rules after fair warning has been given. If you are spam you could be shared with the world in a most inhuman way.

That sums it up friends. 99% of you already know and respect the above things. It is an unspoken Blogger code of conduct perhaps one learns after Blogging for a few months.

A good rule of thumb is this, if you wouldn’t say or do it in real life then why the hell would you do so online? Think about that.

This comment policy will be linked to from my about page. The photo was taken by a friend this past NYE.

An Overdue Thank You

Some months (almost a year) back a wonderful Theme Designer and blogger friend of mine named Amos Moses Griffin designed a WordPress theme using my illustrations and art. He asked my permission to use them in that theme. I gladly, had said yes.

It is called The Tao of You.

Tao of You

At the time of this theme’s birth I was in another world. Well, maybe not another world, but the world around me was collapsing and it was all I could do, to scramble and keep my head afloat above water without resorting back to my old ways of dealing with life’s issues and down times.

So, go and read this man’s blog and especially have a look at his themes. His poetry rocks to.

Thank you Amos. I never forgot. I was tickled pink that you had thought of me to feature as a visual artist in one of your WordPress themes.
