Today, would have been the day that I announce the winners of the donation drive but not enough donations came in to make the draw worthwhile. I’ll be refunding all donations later today (even though I said I wouldn’t within the post) that came in over the last couple of weeks. I couldn’t on good conscience keep them when not enough came in to even draw for the smallest prize.
It’s always a good thing to try something once and even twice at times when it comes to life, relationships or work related stuff. So, I tried it and it didn’t work.
What I learned over the last few months:
- What people say isn’t what they actually do
- What people like isn’t actually what they buy
- Take certain personalities with a grain of salt while trusting others with your deepest secrets
- There are some who taunt and some who encourage
- And some who desperately want to see you fail because of their own shortcomings
- And others whom will cheer you on and strive for your success as they work diligently towards their own too
All in all everyone brings value to the table and that is, in itself, inspiration enough!
The world would be a dull and bland place if everyone looked, acted and dressed the same. Sadly, the mainstream media would have you beleive that that is the way you should be.
I grew much skin over the last few months. And I’m glad you are all here.
With all that said, I’ll be placing a permanent donation button in the sidebar and on my about page later today for anyone who happens upon the site and feels it’s helped them in some way.
I’ll be packaging your calendar today and shipping it out to you this afternoon.
I’ve reduced the 19 remaining 2011 desk calendars here in the studio to $14.00 from their original price of $18.00. I can not carry them over to next year folks. They can be purchased on Etsy in USD or on HandmadeCloud in CAD. Also, if you purchase $50.00 worth of art or other product from either of my shops I’ll include a free 2011 desk calendar with your order.
And to make things interesting for you… do leave a comment below to be entered into another draw for another 2011 desk calendar! I’ll announce the winner of this mini giveaway on Monday, January 31st. Please share this blog post with your friends. Happy Friday!
UPDATE: and the winner of this giveaway is Sara from < "http://diysara.wordpress.com">DiySara who left this comment.
Thank you everyone!
So the deck located on the side of my house is about to fall off. It is by no means secure. The backyard deck, thankfully can happily live through another summer before needing to be replaced, although it is in need of repair too.
I got to thinking about how I can earn the money I need to replace this side deck and staircase that my tenants use to enter and exit the house and thought about running a sale on matted prints. I tend to run two sales per year; once during Springtime and later in early Fall, and then again sometimes I don’t.
This is how I make my living, and at the moment, although my art sales are steady, I do not have any room to maneuver after having recently paid my property taxes in full. And what do people do when they need more money… well they put in overtime to earn the money that they need and for me, that means running a sale.
The matted art prints measure 8×10 inches and will fit directly into a standard sized frame which can be purchased at your local department store. Each archival print is matted and backed with acid free materials.
These matted prints make wonderful wedding, birthday or shower gifts. And they do look striking hanging in your bathroom, on your kids bedroom wall or on a living room shelf or mantle.
And do leave a comment on this blog post and I’ll enter you in a draw for two of the matted prints. I’ll draw the winner on June 9, 2010.
Update – comments are now closed. I will announce the winner of the four pack of Valentine’s on Tuesday! xoxo
Over the last week I have been working on a couple of new designs for Valentine’s Cards. And they are completed and listed in the shop now. The first is called Hearts on Strings and the latter is entitled The Flamboyant Heart.
Each set contains six matching greeting cards and six envelopes. Each card measures 4.25 by 5.5 inches (10,5cm by 14cm). They are blank inside so that you can write your own special greeting.
Leave a comment on this post and you’ll be entered to win a set of four greeting cards. The set contains two Flamboyant Heart’s and two Hearts on Strings cards. This set of four greeting cards were my test prints until I got the colours corrected. Rest assured they are still cute as ever! I’ll draw the winner on Monday night.
And if you really want to make a big statement with the one you love, don’t forget that I create Tickled Pink Hearts in miniature greeting card sets of eight as posted earlier. These little sets although tiny take me longer to produce than their larger cousins.
Each set of Valentine’s themed cards are listed in the Valentines 2010 Section of my shop along with some other items I feel would make beautiful gifts for Valentine’s Day to the ones you love. Order early as my supplies of each item is limited and then there is that shipping part to! I want them to arrive on time for gift giving.
