Review – Epson R2880 Printer

A few weeks ago I got an Epson R2880 printer. Ever since, learning to operate this fascinating piece of equipment has ensued…

Set Up

After a false start first using *metal saw horses to make a table with, I purchased a folding plastic/metal table from Canadian Tire for $39.95. If you buy this printer you will need a dedicated space just for the printer and print-outs it produces. And as the ink takes 48 hours to cure you will need a place to lay the prints flat on or to hang them dry from.

This series began as acrylic and india ink paintings on 1/4 inch thick board. Each painting measures 6×6 inches, however the prints are 8×8 inches and appear as vibrant as they do on your screen! I enlarged them and they look fantastic! The colours are crisp and bright.

I am keeping the original paintings myself as it is not to often that I keep an original, let alone a set of originals. I usually sell it (them) or give it (them) away. Open Edition Prints are available in the shop.

Thank you! Hope you like them!

And the winners of the 3 print packs are…

First Prize – Tressa
Second Prize – Jean Young
Third Prize – LoveMeKnot Creations

Rather than tearing up little pieces of paper like I’ve done in the past or asking a family member to pick a number between such and such I traveled to Random.org and had them pick three random numbers between 1 and 44 as that was how many comments there was.

I’ll be packaging your print packs tonight and mailing them off to you tomorrow. Thank you everyone for entering and leaving wonderful comments for me to read. It was nice to have you around to celebrate my 500th blog post.

Cheers all!

Yes, with the change of seasons comes a change in health. It seems I get struck first by the 24 hour vomit flu and now the going on 96 hour sinus, sore throat, congestion cough cold headache kill me super bug illness. To top it off I have a beautiful blasted cold sore growing on my lower left lip again.

In other news, I’ve purchased an archival printer. Let the bells ring out and the angels sing!

Glicée Prints are available in my Art Shop as of today! More will come as the healthier days commence.

You can get to my art shop in one of ONLY two ways from this blog as WordPress.com has rules about linking to paying sites such as an art shop. You can click on over to my about page or you can click the link found in the upper left navigation menu.

And for the record I don’t only blog because I have an Art Shop. I blog because I love it. It’s another medium for me to bend at whim. To quote what I wrote in 2006 over at the Blog Herald:

Blogging is like opening up a new pack of crayons at age six. It is an artist’s medium; as Letraset is to Mac, hand journaling is to blogging. This new form of journaling; recording information in real time, has struck a chord with me. The sound of tapping keys makes me happy. I have been creating for nearly 30 years but have not shared much of what I have created, learned, understood and for that matter not understood with anyone save for friends and family. This medium grants me a way to create anew and recreate my past artistic endeavors.

And it still does today!

I do wish I could link to my art shop from within posts every now and then here on WordPress… please?…

…and without fear of being banished!

I am sick.
I will get better.
I shoulda taken echinacea.
