The Amelia Mandala Series Locket Set and happy Springtime!

Collaboration between jeweler polarity and artist Jessica Doyle

Very pleased to announce the fourth locket set that features the Amelia Mandala Series. This is a collaboration between jeweler Polarity and myself.

This locket set can be purchased on Etsy or from HandmadeCloud. The locket sets ship directly from Polarity’s studio in the USA so that you are not paying double shipping costs.

I also seem to have missed announcing the Beachy Beachy Beach locket set available on Etsy and HandmadeCloud too! It features a series of four beach themed illustrations that I completed two years ago.

The Dream Sequence – recycled magnetic locket set

This adorable, industrial little locket is created from a recycled steel auto part to which a little eyehook has been silver soldered. The locket has FOUR magnetic interchangeable lids all featuring my artwork.

Introducing the Indigo Urchin & Friends Along with an important announcement

As much as I enjoy creating pastel hued floral and beach themed art there is another side to me that loves to delve into the darker more illuminating side of reality.

Above is the Indigo Urchin, Starfish no.3, Ocean coral Fingers no.2 and the Illuminated Barnacle. They appear as they would in the dead of night floating in the sea or an aquarium.

The Important Announcement!

With new art comes a new shop. HangsaLittleLeft.etsy.com will be my new home to showcase and sell the weird, beautiful and the occasional erotic fancies that perpetuate the human mind at times. I felt it an important business decision to separate the two as many of my favorite drawings were being lost within the pretty wonderland that is JessicaDoyle.etsy.com.

And while my first love is the first shop I can’t help but be excited about sharing the many works of darker art in this new location. The Yin and Yang of myself I suppose? 😉

Cheers!

Beachy Beachy Beach

They are all complete now; a set of four individual ink drawings that I coloured digitally using Adobe Photoshop. I am very pleased with how they turned out.

From left to right:

1. The Wise Barnacle
2. Starfish no.2
3. Ocean Coral Fingers
4. Sassy Sea Urchin

Each is for sale in my shop individually or in a set.

The Wise Barnacle and a Brief Synopsis on How he Came to be an Older Brother

This is the Sassy Sea Urchin‘s Brother, whom is much the wiser and older than she.

Mr. Wise began as an archival ink drawing, rendered with micron 005 nib pen; the smallest nib one can buy. I scanned him in at an obscenely high resolution and began colouring in Adobe Photoshop. Colouring sounds so child-like and in essence that is what I have done. Four days and 18 Photoshop layers later he is complete.

The Wise Barnacle

For consistency sake I added a similar shadow to make him pop off the page and carried the same colour pallet over from Miss. Urchin. And as I hadn’t shown a close-up of Miss. Urchin, here she is.

Sassy Sea Urchin

By the way, I almost called Mr. Wise the Bitchin’ Barnacle! YAH!

Both are available in my shop in 5×5 and 8×8 inch size. The Sassy Sea Urchin has moved on to become my best seller. When I opened my shop, never in my wildest dreams imagined that one illustration would outshine the rest and she did just that, last month. Thank you to everyone who purchased her and left me such wonderful feedback.

They each were born side by side as original ink drawings in one of my journals that were drawn on Wreck Beach in Vancouver, BC.

Sassy Sea Urchin – Illustration

I drew this drawing using a Micron 005 nib pen and later digitally colored it in Adobe Photoshop.

The Sassy Sea Urchin is listed in the shop. You can see the Sassy’s brother and the original ink drawings here.
