After many weeks of working on her she is now completed. I had some issues with the original digital scans and chose to scrap them and rescan her which took some time. She turned out pretty cute as she blows bubbles to water and grow her garden of pink flowers. Continue reading
Paper Size – 10×10 inches (25,5cm by 25,5cm)
Mediums – Prismacolor watercolour penicl crayons and Verithin coloured pencils and Faber Castell Pitt Artist Oens on Arches rough textured watercolour paper
I really enjoyed creating this fascinating piece. The sky took a copious amount of time as it’s pencil crayon only which is much more time consuming to render with than watercolour at times. I spent most evenings over the last week or two working on the sky alone to give it that soft and serene effect. Above is what it looked like before any pencil crayon had been added to the sky.
And late last week I also took a trip to the local art store and purchased some smooth hot press Arches watercolour paper to test out on next. I’ve been working with cold press and cold press rough and need a change of pace eh! Continue reading
Isn’t she the most insane floating snail you’ve ever seen only in your dreams! I thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece. She measures 10 by 10 inches (30,5cm by 30,5cm).
The Messenger of Whimsy was created with Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens, Micron Pens, Prismacolor coloured Pencils and Winsor and Newton watercolour on Arches cold press rough watercolour paper. Continue reading
Peeled the tape off of this piece last night, let it sit and air out. Not that an illustration created with ink, watercolour and coloured pencil needs to air out and dry but it is a nice way to welcome it into the world. Or perhaps, I’ve lost it. Continue reading
UPDATE – Please see this blog post for the results.
I’ve been thinking about how to make my original art available to everyone, while still earning a fair living wage while doing so.
In order for this to work, a minimum of 500 donations must be received by April 15th, 2011. This amount will cover the cost of the original art, the subsequent shipping and Paypal fees related to said art. To enter, simply donate $10.00 CAD via the Paypal Donate Button located at the bottom of this post. You can donate more than once. Each donation received will be entered into the draw for one of five originals created by me. You could win more than once. Continue reading
These beautiful illustrations have taken a long time to produce, from when they first painted one year ago, into fine art prints. It wasn’t until a local buyer here in Saint John requested them as a series of fine art prints to hang in her children’s bedroom that I actually created them this past weekend.
And they are soft, pastel and lovely!
Each measures 8.5 by 11 inches (21,5cm by 28cm). This is a limited edition run of 25 editions only.
Anyhow, they are listed! Enjoy!
While Winter is dragging on in all it’s glistening white glory I’d thought I’d share a selection of previously published drawings with you that celebrate Spring to keep you warm and waiting for March 21st. All the original drawings have sold but I have listed and created fine art prints of each drawing.
The Spring Pussy Willows are listed as a limited edition print in 8.5 x 11 inch size.
Spring tree is also featured on a wonderful Four Seasons of Trees Polarity Locket Set.
Anyhow, I hope these drawings brighten your day as it’s freezing cold outside right now where I live! 😉
