After much thought and deliberation of what illustrations to use in 2012 calendars I couldn’t help myself and used all the crazy creatures and fantasy themed illustrations that I’ve been creating over the last year.
The wall calendar is 14 pages and includes a back and front cover. This calendar measures 4.25 by 11 inches (10.5cm by 27.5cm)
The desk calendar measures 4 by 6 inches (10cm by 15cm) and is 12 pages with a neeto paper wrap-around that shows each calendar month on the back.
Each 2012 calendar features a different whimsical creature from The Land of Whimsy for each month including a collaborative piece with author, Christopher DeWan for the month of November. The popular Chasing the Dragon is also featured for the month of September with The Messenger of Whimsy leading you into January.
I print each calendar page using archival ink on cardstock. The wall calendar pages including a front and back cover are bound together with a sheer ribbon while the desk calendar is palced into a sturdy jewell case for display.
This is the first illustration that I completed with the new art supplies! It measures 10×10 inches (25,5cm by 25,5cm) and was created with Prismacolor Verithin coloured pencils, Prismacolor watercolor pencil crayons and Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens on Arches rough cold press watercolor paper. What began as a simple jellyfish doodle morbidly turned into one flying scoop of melted ice cream.
I can just imagine what made it take off into the air… a childhood temper tantrum during the heat of the summertime, an adult who tripped over the curb after leaving the ice cream vendor stand or maybe just maybe this one sole scoop of ice cream is intelligent and decided it did not want to be licked or eaten, digested and 12 hours later flushed down a toilet into a sewer system built 1000 years ago.
But we’ll never know for sure as this singular scoop of enchanted ice cream has likely left earth’s stratosphere by now in search of it’s own kind.
Drawn with Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens and Derwent & Prismacolor coloured pencils on Strathmore Petal Inclusion paper. This oddity measures 5×7 inches (12,6cm by 17,5cm).
When I ship art I always ask the person who bought it or won it as is the case here to let me know when it arrives. This helps me keep track of shipping times from me to you and also just to know that it did indeed arrive and wasn’t lost in the mail.
Thank you MsDragonfly.

We all feel disconnected from ourselves and even with the world that surrounds us during moments of sorrow, loss or simply because we are overwhelmed. Know this though, you are not alone with those feelings of anxiety or hopelessness as we all from time to time do feel this way.
Take comfort in knowing that every emotion and feeling that you experience will pass, evolving into yet another that in turn to, will adapt and ever change again.

I drew this to attack the stigma associated with Herpes Simplex 1, the virus which causes oral cold sores. A cold sore is really no different than the common cold virus. You get it. You have for 8 to 10 days. Then it disappears hopefully for another year or two. Haha!
Size – 8″ by 8″ or 20.3cm by 20.3cm square
I drew this late last year with a Pilot G-tec C4 pen and later added some color using Prismacolor lightfast colored pencils. The paper is light yellow Canson 100 percent cotton paper.
