Cable Disconnection

TV is dead. This evening Eric called Shaw. He disconnected the cable. He may go through some withdrawal over the next week. He warned me that he may not be in the greatest of moods saying he is, as addicted to television as I was to GHB

In the search of understanding his affliction I discovered this website Turn off Your TV. They also have a section devoted to Television Addiction. Their illustrations are wonderful! Take a look at their site.

When the habit interferes with the ability to grow, to learn new things, to lead an active life, then it does constitute a kind of dependence and should be taken seriously.

Now, our television will become an even better plant stand 😉 And the guitar will get played rather than just being a pretty ornament beside the TV.

  1. I actually might be okay with not having cable tv but I’m almost positive I would freak out if I didn’t have my cable internet.
