Pictures of old stuff

vintage sheet music… kneeling and praying girl

My Dad recently brought down stacks of vintage sheet music and other old oddities into the studio here for me to list and photograph. Most of it is now photographed.

watches, spoon, vintage, antique

The majority of the sheet music dates to the 1940’s and earlier. Some of it even dates to the late 1800’s!

Most of the metal items and trinkets are now listed in the OLDisNEW vintage shop. The sheet music however, I’ll be listing during the coming weeks.

  1. Awww… I just teared up. :)

I learned to play piano using my grandmother’s vintage WW2 era sheet music… and many of the songs have become favorites of mine because of the sentimental value they held for her. She and my grandfather courted through their letters during the war, while he was stationed in Europe.

Unfortunately they lost most of their books and music in a house fire in the late 90’s, and they’re both deceased now. I’ll have to keep watch in your vintage shop… I’d love to start my own vintage music collection again. :)

  2. Ahhh Tara… hugs. What a nice musical memory to have of your grandparents.

I’m so sorry about the fire. It’s always amazing when something so old survives but so sad when it’s gone before it’s time.
