The weekly weigh-in with my alter ego Vanesica

Vanesica - vector rendering - Jessica DoyleThis conversation is between my online/offline self.

Vanesica “How is your diet going?”
Jessica “Who the hell are you?”
Vanesica “I am but one half of you”
Jessica “Can I throw you away then?”

In order of appearance - Jessica, Eric, Tomoko, Ian, Chester and Junko

This week has been a great one for enjoying the great outdoors in Vancouver.

Friday I spent out at Tomoko and Ian’s place. They have cows, two adult goats whom fell in love and had a baby to make three, one collie (nick named Ribs) who ridiculously herds the three goats at all times, and a brand new little kitten. So much fun! They have an adult sized wading pool where we spent much of our time swimming around in to stay cool. They also garden as Eric and I do except they plant directly in the ground where we garden in containers simply because, we are four floors up. Between eating rotisserie BBQ chicken, painting our toe-nails, laughing at the men’s fascination (addiction) to Magic The Gathering (at least they actually play the card game and don’t just buy them, open them up and then put them away as others do) and wandering around the property; it was, an awesome evening/night. Tomoko looks beautiful with her little belly. She is four monthes along now. When Eric and I arrived home I had an email in my inbox from Chester

My cousin Christine Boyer and her long time friend and business partner Tracy Gray own and operate Aradia. Aradia will be opening soon a location in Washington, USA. Look out for North American domination as these two women teach other women to empower themselves both physically and emotionally. I love and am proud of you Christine! xo

Debugging the quote

##NOLIGHTBOX##Quote of the day - Grace Murray HopperMy mother sent this quote to me today via email. Today of all days the words have meaning to me. Maybe they do to you too?

Did a little bit of research into who Grace Murray Hopper is/was and found she has her own page on wiki. Be sure to take a look at the first computer bug ever found in a computer! She discovered and aptly named this phenomenon. Anyone, who has ever had to debug their computer will surely get a laugh from this. Cheers all!

He popped his cherry

Cotton Swab

Ever heard of an eargasm? It’s similar to an orgasm but this gasm happens in the ear, stimulated by none other than a q-tip, after showering. Eric popped his cherry the other day.

“Ah honey, there is blood on the q-tip” I say as he walks through the kitchen pulling the fuzzy white tipped stimulator out of his ear.

“Oh.” Eric responds pushing the q-tip back into his ear to finish it.

He walked away and we both conitinued with our day. Today however, while laughing to myself about the incident thinking ah my boyfriend popped his cherry. Laughing outloud now by this revelation I stare at him.

“What! wwwhhat, is so funny?”

“You popped your cherry yesterday.”

“It’s not funny. It HURT!”

Roaring I said “It won’t hurt again. It only hurts the first time…”

Staring with an embarrassed smirk he sighs “Jessica…”

You know, he even gets that googly-eyed-look as he does this, daily. It is a strange pleasure, but not unheard of.

Cable Disconnection

TV is dead. This evening Eric called Shaw. He disconnected the cable. He may go through some withdrawal over the next week. He warned me that he may not be in the greatest of moods saying he is, as addicted to television as I was to GHB

In the search of understanding his affliction I discovered this website Turn off Your TV. They also have a section devoted to Television Addiction. Their illustrations are wonderful! Take a look at their site.

When the habit interferes with the ability to grow, to learn new things, to lead an active life, then it does constitute a kind of dependence and should be taken seriously.

Robert Kubey and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi in the article “Television Addiction Is No Mere Metaphor,” Scientific American, February 2002

Now, our television will become an even better plant stand đŸ˜‰ And the guitar will get played rather than just being a pretty ornament beside the TV.

And I say gosh darnit people do love me

Living with mental health problems and being so public about it through this website certainly gives me something to write about. I’m either laughing or crying most days. Every so often though, during a walk down in the valley I reach out in the most unheard of ways possible. How many people are so self centered that they would ask others to answer a questionnaire about themselves?

Hhrhum. cough, cough. me…cough

Please respond to the following questions?

As human beings do we change over time? Do our inner most souls evolve into something newer sleeker or for that matter slowly rot away into nothingness? Well, I hope not into nothingness yet one never knows what could happen and there is no sense worrying about because there are people in this world who worry enough for the whole world yet are powerless to change it because, it is worry and worry just does not fix a God Damn thing.

Jessica - looking up.So I have some questions. These questions I will ask to everyone who reads my site. Everyone is welcome to answer but only through leaving a comment online. Please don’t send me an email. This site in NOT private. I have nothing to hide. All I want is some help in gaining an understanding of who I am – both the good and the bad. I feel like my life is cycling right now. I don’t want to pedal anymore. I’m asking you all for help please? You can post your comment anonymously if you like and copy and paste the following questions into the comment box. Your comment will come into moderation and I’ll put it live.

An Art Abstract

Who needs drugs when you have photoshop. This is my friend Chester on the right and myself on the left. He sent me an email with these pics attached at the end of the message. I emailed him back with some pics of my own. Anyone care to guess what we were talking about? LOL! Man, I laughed so hard the other night because of the pics he sent me and the ones I later created to send him.

If you have any distorted pics of yourself please feel free to send them to me. I’ll post 6 at a time to create another art absract.
